One more feather in the cap of MDS School Udaipur, under special guidance and extended supportive nature of DR. SHAILENDRA SOMANI, DIRECTOR, MDS. MDS will now be entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITI Ayog for further process to establish Atal Tinkering Lab at MDS Pratap Nagar Campus. 13005 schools across India had applied for ATL and 977 from Rajasthan out of which 237 from India and only 4 were selected from Rajasthan, MDS has put Udaipur at National level by being selected by Niti Ayog for establishing ATL.
The stars are twinkling bright in the sky of udaipur, These two ray of lights have touched the sky and are shining bright. students of Std. XII Kalpit Veerwal and Manasven Raina were sent for the contest to give presentation on Local Issues and probable solutions before technical and administrative personnel of Niti Ayog. The entries were judged on the basis of Novelty of innovation in identified areas, Clarity of expression, Demonstration & Potential impact.
ATLs, which are part of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), will be established in schools all across the country to help create an innovation ecosystem in the country. These labs are being set up to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mind set, computational thinking, adaptive learning etc.
ATL is a work space where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands on do-it-yourself mode; and learn innovation skills. Young children will get a chance to work with tools and equipment to understand the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). ATL would contain educational and learning ‘do it yourself’ kits and equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers and computers. Other desirable facilities include meeting rooms and video conferencing facility.
AIM will provide grant-in-aid that includes a one-time establishment cost of Rs. 10 lakh and operational expenses of Rs. 10 lakh for a maximum period of 5 years to each ATL. MDS will now be entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NITI Ayog for further process to establish Atal Tinkering Lab at MDS Pratap Nagar Campus
