- Tell us something about you (Introduction)
My name is Antra Bhati.
On social media known as lensqueen_udaipur
- Tell us something about your business/profession
I’m a professional photographer specified in bridal, kids, food/products, pre-weddings, conceptual photography, Street, travel photography, landscape and Apart from this I also work for an NGO.
- How and what you are doing differently?
I don’t know what is so different about a female doing Photography or Pursuing her passion and goals? I do what I love to. I capture the moments that give happiness to me and memories to the people, whether it’s street, festivals or any other time, clicking is my life.
I’m the first female photographer of Udaipur. Recently one article was published under Udaipur’s Inspiring Youth, Many of my pictures were featured on newspapers, social media big pages, also music composers like Salim & Sulaiman featured it.
I also work in NGOs which work on the grassroots level. To give back to society gives a different kind of happiness.
- Challenges you have faced and how you overcame?
Well, challenges started at a very early age.
At the age of 18, I realized that there is some connection between me & the camera. That time digicam was in trend & as a student, I was not able to buy it.
I start clicking the pictures from my friends mobile phones because In my family there was only one keypad Mobile that my father have it.
After 2 years my brother gifted me DSLR from all the savings that he had. That was the happiness that I found that day but the real challenges started at that time.
At the time when all my friends were started preparing for government exams, CA/CS and many more. I was so much surrounded by the pressure. Being an artist it was difficult to tell everybody that we all humans are different, we have different choices, we can have a different profession.
Well, it took time to get out of the league but I succeeded. Started my career as a photographer, I thought that now everything will be fine but then the so-called society started questioning my parents how can you send your daughter anywhere?
Your daughter is clicking the pictures in marriages?
Why she became a photographer? Is she weak in studies?
Trust me The questions had no limits and they would have left my heart blistered had my parents not been there as a shield around me, my parents supported me , as they knew that they will kill my personality if they take away my passion from me, as they knew what photography meant to me and how much I had given to my passion. Here I will like to mention that apart from my parents I also have a very loving and protective brother who stood by me in all the circumstances and always instigated me to achieve more then what I was aiming. And And And after so much support how could I have failed them, I was full of joy, motivation, positive vibes and brushed away all the negative vibes that came from the society and the suppressive environment floating around me.
